Siding
While there are many different siding options available, at Premier Exteriors we primarily install James Hardie, Nichiha, or Allura fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is a durable, low-maintenance exterior cladding made from a blend of cement, sand, and cellulose fibers. Commonly used in commercial applications, it offers excellent fire resistance, moisture resistance, and longevity while mimicking the appearance of wood or stucco. Its strength versatility, and ability to withstand harsh weather conditions make it a popular choice for commercial buildings seeking both durability and aesthetic appeal. Additionally we also install thermally modified wood siding and a variety of other composite materials.

What type of profiles does fiber cement siding come in?
Lap Siding (Plank Siding) - Resembling traditional wood siding this profile features horizontal boards that overlap, providing a classic and timeless look.
Panel Siding - Large, flat panels that create a modern, sleek appearance, often used in contemporary and commercial designs.
Shake & Shingle Siding - Designed to mimic the texture and look of natural wood shakes or shingles, adding character and depth to a building’s exterior.
Vertical Siding (Board and Batten) - Featuring long vertical panels with or without battens, this style creates a rustic or modern aesthetic, depending on the finish.
Architectural Trim & Accents - Used to complement other siding profiles, these trim pieces enhance details around windows, doors, and corners for a more refined finish.
How does fiber cement siding perform in areas with high humidity or extreme temperature changes?
Fiber cement siding performs well in areas with high humidity and extreme temperature changes due to its unique composition. Unlike wood, fiber cement siding does not warp, swell, or rot when exposed to moisture. It also does not support mold or mildew growth like organic materials can making it a good choice for humid climates.
Does fiber cement siding meet fire codes and other commercial building regulations?
Yes, fiber cement siding generally meets or exceeds fire codes and many other commercial building regulations. Most fiber cement siding products such as those from James Hardie and Nichiha are classified as non-combustible. They can also withstand hurricane-force winds and meet standards like the Florida Building Code (FBC). As with any other exterior cladding proper installation is critical as incorrect installation can impact the overall performance of the siding.
What is “Thermally Modified Wood” Siding?
This is a new trend in wood siding that we have saw become more popular as of recent. This is chemical free process where wood is heated (steamed) to remove 95% of the moisture content, natural acids & sugars (which bugs eat & causes rot). Then the moisture that is removed is replaced with a natural product like vinegar. In this step they can inject color or stain into the wood internally so the color is throughout. When the process is finished you're left with a lighter, more stable wood that can carry warranties from 15 to 50 yrs and have a plethora of colors & finish choices. One of the highly sought after finishes is called ‘Shou Sugi Ban’, a Japanese process of charring the wood to give it a very unique look.
